" I went there last week with my girlfriend for Happy hour. From the time we walked in the door until we left I loved it . The bar/server was very friendly and helpful about drinks/ food. The food was really good and very well priced for happy hour.
They also do things for the homeless during Thanksgiving, and shows right next door to their place in the VIP room.
Check it out for yourself, words don't do this place justice!"

" Dear reader,
"
I have to tell you about my experience at this place.  I came there with my fiance for a nice quiet dinner out.  It was more than I expected.  Like most people i have heard mixed reviews about this place but thought I'd give it a shot.  I have to tell you, mixed reviews do NOT do it justice.  From the time we entered with the warm hello from the smiling (if maybe even a little eccentric) to the great wines to chose from, to the excellent menu.  I ended up having the baked fish picatta. Superb.  My fiance had the braised beef.  I really felt that we were very special guests there and highly recommend Amore to anyone that is from Seattle or just stopping through for a visit."

"I've been to this place a few times now, usually later at night, and enjoy the ambience.  The restaurant/bar makes up two rooms.  The dining room/bar feels more like a family room, nice and cozy.  Sometimes they have live music.  On weekend nights, they show movies on a big screen tv until closing at 3 am, making it feel nice and casual.  The second room is more private, with a pool table, which is great when you just want to hang out with a couple of friends and talk over a game of pool.
I have had a variety of drinks, all of which were well-made.  My favorite bartender is Russian, makes great drinks, and has a marvelous accent.  If you're in the mood for a different kind of drink, the bartenders have some cool suggestions for you... just ask.  The prices are on par with a restaurant/bar in this area.
While chatting with the cook on a break seated outside, he recommended that I try the lasagna, so I did.  The cook seemed to take pride in his work, which I usually take as a good sign for a restaurant.  The lasagna is rich in flavor, with crusted parmesan on the top, surrounded by Alfredo sauce to contrast the density of the lasagna itself.  It really is delightfully different.
Amore is a great alternative to the afterhours greasy spoons nearby, like the Five Point or the Hurricane.  Here the food is more gourmet, with very reasonable prices.  And the people who hang out there are friendly and easy to converse with.
Amore is located under the monorail, on 5th Ave., so it's a little out of the way of "bar row" on second, but it's worth a few blocks walk to check it out when you're ready to relax and chill.
I recommend this place for an off-the-beaten-path hang-out or a late-night snack before you head home for the night.
I'd like to disclose that I am acquainted with the (friendly) owner through a friend, but I can assure you my review is an honest one.
PROS: Open late for good non-greasy food, drinks well-made, friendly people and staff who take pride in their work.  Ambience suits many moods -- with bar, pool, late-night movies, live music, outdoor seating, or taking a date.
CONS:  A few blocks off the beaten path from "bar row" on second avenue in belltown"

" I don't eat out that much since I'm a wimp and hate dining alone. But I've been wanting to try this place since it is right up the block from me and I walk by it nearly every day.  Decided to finally suck it up and treat myself to a dinner out. I had a seat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender and a few other patrons. I was comfortable instantly. I started with a tasty ginger cosmo off the happy hour menu and then the bartender made me a special ginger-mint cosmo to follow. It was equally good, even a bit more refreshing. Had a nice sampling of items off the happy hour menu. Everything was delicious! And very well priced. Overall a lovely evening out. This is the first place in 9 months of living here that I actually met some friendly people so I plan on coming back soon. In fact, this may become my regular happy hour spot".
